Epic Burger To Open Second Location This Spring
“A More Mindful Burger” Lands in Lincoln Park

CHICAGO, IL—Epic Burger is set to open their second location in Spring 2010 at 1000 West North Avenue in the former Transitions Bookplace in Lincoln Park. The inaugural location launched in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood in May 2008, and introduced Chicago – and the world - to “a more mindful burger”.
In a time when authenticity and value is top of mind, Epic Burger offers its customers a better burger experience. The new location will introduce their Lincoln Park customers to their mindful menu that features 100% all natural, never frozen, hand-packed beef and turkey burgers, all-natural chicken breasts and portabella mushroom sandwiches, all cooked fresh to order and topped with epic sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickle and grilled or raw onion.  Customers can also choose from unique flavor additions like: Cage-free Organic Fried Egg, Nitrate free Bacon and All Natural Cheeses – Wisconsin, One-year aged Cheddar, Buttermilk Blue and Horseradish Havarti. Epic Burger buns are baked fresh daily and have no preservatives or artificial ingredients.  Fries are made with fresh, hand cut potatoes cooked with zero trans fats and seasoned with pure sea salt.  The menu also features shakes and smoothies made with all natural ice cream and fat free frozen yogurt.
Though the menu will stay intact, the new location will feature some modifications to better represent its new home. According to Founder, David Friedman, “Since the South Loop location is recognized for its fun, modern design we will keep it the way it is, but the new location will introduce a softer color palette, plenty of parking and will maintain its efforts to remain environmentally conscious by using Energy Star rated equipment and no petroleum-based packaging.”

Friedman is excited about the expansion of his better burger experience: “I am proud to serve burgers and fries the way they used to taste before the industrialization of restaurants and farms.  No drugs, artificial ingredients or preservatives are used.  We offer opportunity and accessibility to all people to taste unadulterated food in its simplest and most humble form.”

ABOUT EPIC BURGER:
The Epic Burger idea started when chef, David Friedman, found himself on a road trip with a massive craving for a burger.  After considering his options – the king, the clown or the redheaded tween– he realized the need for a better option. David went to work on creating a better burger experience.  Drawing on his culinary roots, he kept it simple by going back to the basics and only using the best ingredients.
