About United Cerebral Palsy Research & Educational Foundation:
Founded in 1955, the United Cerebral Palsy Research and Educational Foundation was created as an independent Foundation by the Goldenson and Hausman families. The goal of the Research Foundation was created to foster and support rigorous scientific research aimed at the prevention, cure and care for children with Cerebral Palsy and related developmental disabilities. The Foundation funded the development of the German measles vaccine, the fetal heart monitor, photo-therapy/bili-lights for treating newborn jaundice and many other important discoveries. Today, the Research Foundation has broadened and deepened its research and portfolio by conducting research that spans “bench to bedside” and from the cradle to the end of a very long life. The CP Research Foundation funds work internationally, and the results often relate to many seemingly unrelated medical conditions including stroke, Osteoporosis and Parkinson’s disease. The end goal is to ensure that the persons with disabilities are included in every facet of society—from the web to the workplace; from the classroom to the community. www.ucpresearch.org
