COMMON HOSTS “START THE SHOW N’ BOWL” TO RAISE MONEY FOR URBAN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
WHAT:
The Common Ground Foundation will be hosting the first annual “Common's Start the Show n' Bowl” with celebrities, participants, sponsors, and volunteers in attendance followed by a “Common & Friends” concert. The event's goal is to raise over $350,000 for the foundation.
The Common Ground Foundation is dedicated to the empowerment and development of urban youth in the United States. The event is set to help raise money for two programs: “BE Empowered” and “Read for Change.”
Common Ground’s “BE Empowered” provides life, career, and educational mentoring as a means for youth participants to achieve understanding, confidence, and self-respect. “Read for Change” addresses the national problem of illiteracy which motivates youth to read through The Corner, a national online book club.
