Celiac Sprue Association Partners with Roti
Mediterranean Grill Gives Back Through Gluten-Free Menu

(September 6, 2011) – The Celiac Sprue Association and Roti Mediterranean Grill are pleased to announce a partnership to raise funds for National Celiac Awareness Day on September 13th, 2011. $1 of every Gluten-Free Sultan Sandwich, Gluten-Free Salad and Gluten-Free Platter purchased from Roti’s special menu at any of the Mediterranean eatery's eleven locations in both Chicago and Washington D.C. will be donated to the Celiac Sprue Association, the largest non-profit celiac support group in America.

Mary Schluckebier, Executive Director of the Celiac Sprue Association is looking forward to the opportunity to partner with Roti. She stated, "The Celiac Sprue Association is proud to partner for Celiac Awareness Day with Roti Mediterranean Grill. Each day Roti offers delicious gluten-free selections making dining easy for friends, with and without special diets. The Celiac Sprue Association enthusiastically appreciates the extra efforts of the staff to spotlight gluten-free dining and celiac disease on September 13th and thanks the eatery for caring for the welfare of its customers.

Customers can choose from the Sultan Sandwich, a Roti classic made with chicken roti, hummus, tomato & cucumber salad in a gluten-free pita with Zhug, the eatery’s spicy sauce. Other options are the Gluten-Free Salad with chicken or steak roti, mixed greens, roasted vegetables, red cabbage slaw and feta cheese tossed in red wine vinaigrette and served with gluten-free pita bread, or the Gluten-Free Platter with chicken or steak roti, Spanish eggplant, hummus, red cabbage slaw, choice of sauce and gluten-free pita bread.

National Celiac Awareness Day marks a time of awareness for the estimated three million Americans with Celiac disease yet 95% remain undiagnosed. Celiac disease is life-long and currently incurable with the only treatment being strict adherence to a gluten-free lifestyle. As incidence and awareness of this common genetic disorder grows, gluten freedom and offering gluten-free options is being explored and embraced by more and more restaurants, including Roti Mediterranean Grill.

CEO & Founder Bill Post of Roti Mediterranean Grill stated, “We are excited to partner with Celiac Sprue Association and help advocate for celiac awareness. Roti recognizes the growth of this disease through an assortment of no-wheat items on our menu and we hope to raise as much awareness as possible for the CSA on September 13th.“
