Domaine de Canton Presents “Bridging the Gap”, An Intimate Holiday Celebration Hosted by Tip “T.I.” Harris and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton to Benefit Hosea Feed the Hungry & Homeless
Chicago, IL (December 11, 2008)— Domaine de Canton, the only upscale ginger liqueur with VSOP and XO Cognac and winner of the “2008 Best in Show” at the World Spirits Competition, will be hosting a private holiday dinner gala presented by Antwan “Big Boi” Patton and entertainer Tip “T.I.” Harris. The event, aptly titled “Bridging the Gap”, will be held at the new Mason Murer Art gallery on December 22 from 7-11 PM and will showcase how historical and modern icons can converge to create positive action. In the spirit of the season, all guests are requested to bring gift cards or gas cards to be donated to the Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless. Donations from evening will help HFTH to feed the poor in sixteen of Georgia’s own counties, as well as international countries in need. In addition, T.I.’s mentor, former Atlanta mayor, United Nations Ambassador and political activist, Mr. Andrew Young will be in attendance alongside the two hip hop icons and 150 of Atlanta’s elite entertainers and politicians.
To compliment the “old meets new” theme, guests will receive special “dip the tip” cigars that illustrate how the classic ginger liqueur, Domaine de Canton, can add a modern twist to an earthy cigar. By dipping the tip of a cigar into the spirit, it will arouse the exotic flavors of Domaine de Canton’s key ingredients: Vietnamese baby ginger, Tahitian vanilla beans, Provencal honey and Tunisian ginseng all enhanced with VSOP and XO Cognac. The tradition of dipping cigars in cognac was even enjoyed by Sir Winston Churchill. The sophisticated and elegant taste of Domaine de Canton, which is married with cognac, offers a modern twist to this timeless ritual.
Guests will also enjoy a variety of Domaine de Canton cocktails including the Hibiscus Apertif (Domaine de Canton, Hibiscus Syrup Champagne and an edible Hibiscus flower) and the DDC Cocktail (Domaine de Canton, organic lemon juice, Angostura Bitters, a sugar cane stick and mint) as well as some specially prepared appetizers, entrees and desserts that include the liqueur as a main ingredient. Along with the unique menu, the event will feature one of Atlanta’s most festive bands - Gritz & Jelly Butter – that are no strangers to entertaining Atlanta’s A-list.
About Domaine de Canton:
Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur was inspired by the French tradition in which sweet and fresh elixirs were fortified by fine eaux de vie and cognac. Named for the ginger estate of Domaine de Canton, this aromatic elixir first became popular with the French during colonial Indochine. Inspired by the subtle spiciness of the baby ginger grown there, the French began adding its exotic flavor to eau de vie and Cognac. Its recipe evokes an era of tropical romance and continental sophistication that is both elegant and timeless. Domaine de Canton is all natural and handmade in small batches in the Cognac region of Jarnac, France and contains no preservatives or colorants. It can be found at most liquor stores as well as at some of the hottest restaurants and bars in the world.
